About

Earth provides enough to satisfy every man’s need, but not every man’s greed. – Mahatma Ghandi

It’s simple. We (and by ‘we’ I mean you, me and the majority of the human beings walking this Earth) are destroying the planet. We are consuming too much and in a wrong way. Our lifestyles produce an ecological or carbon footprint: the piece of Earth that we occupy, use, utilize to fulfill our needs for food, housing, energy, stuff, transport and leisure. When your ecological footprint is balanced, you don’t take more from our planet Earth than necessary and you don’t take more than what Earth can provide.

Before I started this initiative, I did some tests to see how good or bad my own ecological footprint actually is. I thought it was pretty good. The results showed me I was completely wrong. If everyone would live like me, we would need a shocking 3.5 Earths.

In other words, I was more than contributing in f*cking the Earth. And why? When I ask myself and the people around me “What makes you happy?” there is absolutely no one who answers “Buying stuff.” We get happy spending time with the people we love, being surrounded by nature, eating food that actually tastes like food and not like rubber or plastic.

And yet, we are focused on stuff. On the newest phone, cause that is what makes us cool. On a bigger house, where half of the spaces are filled with stuff that we “might need some day”. On traveling 5 times per year to a tropical island that has been flushed with the 8 million tons of plastic that we dump into the oceans each year. Because that is what makes us successful. And it’s something to proudly show on our Instagram account. Right?

Reducing our levels of consumption will not be a sacrifice but a bonus if we simply redefine the meaning of the word success. – David Wann

I believe it’s time to make a change! On this website I will share my journey to a smaller, but more important happier footprint. Because I believe that leads to a happier life. I am going to share my experiences, information about sustainable products, eco-positive news, new recipes, some tips and trics to make your life more sustainable. Will my footprint reduce inmediately to 1.0? No. Will I fail every now and then? Yes. But if I do nothing, the only certainty I have is that things will go wrong completely.

It’s not about perfection. It’s about progress

I also decided to use my professional skills (I am a freelance marketeer) only for brands and companies that have a positive impact on our planet Earth or have serious intentions to do so. Contact me if you would like to know more about how we can help each other.

Are you ready for your happy footprint? Join me on my mission!
